Hamlin Upper Forest Restoration Project

Join us at a new site at Hamlin Park! We are restoring the forest by removing invasive species, improving the health of the soil, and planting native trees, shrubs and ground cover. No experience is necessary; just an interest in having fun while protecting native habitat. We provide all of the tools and work gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish. more

We will be working rain or shine to combat the invasives! We are looking to widen the area near the creek for future plantings. Also, the area parallel to Meridian is in need of clearing new growth weeds. All in all, plenty of work to do! more

Echo Lake Loves Native Plants

Two more conifer trees and some ferns for our native plant area! Little conifers need to get growing, carbon repositories of the future! And some more mulch, to squash the choking buttercups. Maybe a little wedding. Come join us, meet neighbors are other lovers of Echo Lake. more

We'll be planting native trees and shrubs in an area where past volunteers helped to clear blackberry and lay down mulch last year. Now it's ready for the plants! Northcrest Park - 2024 Restoration Event #15 - PLANTING PARTY

Planting time - we've got 120 native plants to put into the area - including Western Red Cedars (YAY), Doug Firs, 9 Barks, sword ferns, snowberry bushes, huckleberry, and much more. The land is anticipating these wonderful plants! Come help us put the final touches on this amazing park of our park! more

Join us to celebrate Green Shoreline Day, our biggest planting celebration of the year! We will be planting the future forest of North City Park and we want to see you there! Coming out to plant with us is one of the best ways to give back to your local forest and your neighbors. Help us to build healthy habitat and build a healthy community by taking part in Green Shoreline Day. All are welcome to attend and no experience is necessary! This is a highly sought-after event, so please make sure to sign up in advance to save your spot to plant with us. more

Boeing Creek in Hillwood Park is being overtaken by non-native invasive Creeping Buttercup! Come and help control the spread of this invasive non-native pest by planting some native plants, ferns, shrubs and conifers that will leave the Creeping Buttercup in the shade. more

Richmond Beach Community Park Plant Installation!

November 17, 10am-12pm @ Richmond Beach Library Community Park

Please join our small but mighty group of volunteers for the most exciting work party of the year -- planting day! Our planting event coincides with Green Shoreline Day, a volunteer day across the city that draws hundreds of participants for planting programs. Our work site is located at Richmond Beach Community Park (where the Richmond Beach Library is). We will be installing a variety of native understory plants at the previously cleared site, and possibly clearing additional invasive plants. We will give a tutorial on how to plant these plants, so no prior experience is necessary. All tools provided, but please bring your own gloves. This work is done on a level area, but we are working on the big staircase, so walking up and down stairs is involved. more

We will be doing some maintenance of a prior restoration area. We will be removing lots of blackberry vines, removing some ivy, spreading wood chips after the ivy and blackberry removal and will hopefully have about 10 plants to plant. more
