Help Us Grow Our Forest at Richmond Beach Saltwater ParkSeptember 19, 9am-11:30am @ Richmond Beach Saltwater Park Enjoy the panoramic views of Puget Sound and the Olympia Mountains while helping to water trees and shrubs in native habitat restoration areas planted by UW students and community members. We use an innovative irrigation system that saves water and keeps our plants healthy during the hot summer months. It’s simple and can be used in home gardens – we can show you how. Everyone who comes to help restore nearshore habitat at the park is appreciated! No experience is necessary; just an interest in working together and having fun while restoring native habitat. We provide all tools and work gloves. (You are welcome to bring your own if you wish). more |

Shoreline Park Work PartySeptember 21, 10am-12pm @ Shoreline Park Please join us in keeping the small forest of Shoreline Park beautiful. If we love this park, it will keep loving us right back. We're dreaming of a park free of invasive plants and filled with native plants. Work areas are manageable and it's easy to see the difference we've made so far. We'll be cutting and digging out Himalayan blackberry, rolling up carpets of English ivy, and working to preserve the trailing blackberry, salal, ferns, bleeding heart, and other native plants already thriving. We'll also be hauling mulch to the cleared area. more |

Join us! Weekly Sunday Work PartySeptember 22, 9am-12pm @ Twin Ponds Park We had October-like rain in August! But with not entirely cool weather, the invasives exploded everywhere. We are trying to clear herb Robert one area at a time but there’s still plenty to pull out, not to mention bindweed, nipplewort and bird-seeded Himalayan blackberry. In short, there’s plenty to do so join us! more |
