Hamlin Upper Forest Restoration ProjectJuly 11, 12pm-3pm @ Hamlin Park Join us as we restore the forest by removing invasive species, improving the health of the soil, and planting native trees, shrubs and ground cover. Help Us Grow Our Forest at Richmond Beach Saltwater ParkJuly 12, 9am-11:30am @ Richmond Beach Saltwater Park Enjoy panoramic views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains while helping to take care of native habitat restoration areas. We'll be removing noxious weeds and/or mulching today. Everyone who comes to help restore nearshore habitat at the park is appreciated! No experience is necessary; just an interest in working together and having fun while protecting and restoring native habitat. We provide all tools and work gloves. Ivy Tree Ring - 5July 12, 8am-10am @ Richmond Beach Saltwater Park We will be removing a ring of ivy from the trees in the area east of the railroad tracks. This is an overgrown area and bushwhacking will be involved. Parts of the area are rough terrain and wet. more |

Northcrest Park Restoration Event #9July 12, 10am-1pm @ Northcrest Park Come join us as we fine tune the area in the west meadow in preparation for planting this fall. We will only have 2 events in July, so come and help the park gain its Independence from the ivy (and holly and blackberry) more |

Join us! Weekly Sunday Work PartyJuly 13, 9am-12pm @ Twin Ponds Park There are invasive weeds EVERYWHERE! High on the list of pernicious weeds is bindweed because it can strangle our native plants as it grows upward. And, bindweed seems to thrive in both wet and dry areas. If you can spare a few hours on a Sunday morning, please join us as we rescue native plants from this vile and unwelcome invasive. Also, there’s plenty of Stinky Bob to yank out, too. more |

Forest Restoration with LakesideJuly 15, 9am-12pm @ North City Park This summer we have a number of restoration work tasks which will keep the students busy and learning as they help with restoring the North City Park forest. Students will have the chance to help identify native plants within a new restoration site as well as remove invasive and bring in much to enrich the soil. We also have a number of trees that would benefit from ivy removal and digging survival rings. Finally, we will be liming some of the larger holly trees preparing them for treatment later this summer. more |

Make Hillwood Park Happy Hour!July 18, 4pm-6pm @ Hillwood Park Have you heard? - Hillwood Park is expanding, adding a new entrance from 8th avenue! Please join us for a fun Friday Happy Hour Work Party! We'll be removing noxious weeds and non-native plants from the new park section to prepare the land for the city to install walking trails and other features. There will be an optional meetup afterwards (location TBD) to celebrate our progress! more |

Work Party on the BeachJuly 26, 9am-11:30am @ Richmond Beach Saltwater Park We'll be working out on the beach this Saturday - picking up trash and removing scotchbroom (and maybe a few blackberry here and there). This knoll is a favored bird watching location as it has a great view of the Sound. Come help us reclaim the beach! There is a restroom and water spigot on the beach.
