22 Celebrate Earth Day in North City Park April 22, 10am-2pm @ North City Park Every April 22nd, stakeholders of all backgrounds come together to advance sustainability and climate action in commemoration of Earth Day. Supporting a healthy canopy in Shoreline Parks is a great investment of volunteer time and energy. In North City Park we are celebrating our second year of volunteer restoration activity by marking yet another new area for first- time removal of Himalayan blackberry, small laurel and holly as well as ivy. During our day together we will also be laying mulch in recent planting areas. Come join this neighborhood effort to restore our Family Friendly Forest in North City! more
22 Earth Day at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park April 22, 9am-12pm @ Richmond Beach Saltwater Park Join us to celebrate Earth Day! We be maintaining restoration areas in order to restore historic forested habitat at the park. We’ll be mulching several areas and removing invasive species. We'll also introduce you to to our unique, water-saving irrigation system – and how you can set it up in your own gardens to reduce water use while keeping your plants healthy during the hot summer months. All are welcome to attend and no experience is necessary! Come and have fun while being a part of bringing native habitat back to the park. We appreciate everyone who comes to help us restore nearshore habitat at the park! more
22 Echo Lake Loves Native Plants April 22, 11am-2pm @ Echo Lake Park Come celebrate Earth Day at Echo Lake Park! We are doing some housekeeping in the native plant area on the lake shore. Last year we did tons of planting and pulling weeds. This Saturday we are piling up fallen branches to create a fence, adding bunny proof cages around some plants, and doing a little weeding. Come join us and show your Earth Mother some love! We'll have tea and coffee. more
