We are restoring the forest by removing invasive species, improving the health of the soil, and planting native trees, shrubs and ground cover. Improve your wildlife identification skills while learning urban forestry and ecological restoration best practices. Students can earn community service hours while having fun outdoors. more |

Help Us Grow Our Forest at Richmond Beach Saltwater ParkJune 19, 10am-12:30pm @ Richmond Beach Saltwater Park Enjoy panoramic views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains while helping to take care of native habitat restoration areas. We'll be removing noxious weeds and/or mulching today. Everyone who comes to help restore nearshore habitat at the park is appreciated! No experience is necessary; just an interest in working together and having fun while protecting and restoring native habitat. We provide all tools and work gloves. Chip In at Richmond Beach Community (Library) Park!June 21, 10am-12pm @ Richmond Beach Library Community Park Please join our small but mighty group of volunteers for a work party at Richmond Beach Community Park (where the library is!). We are in the process of clearing and mulching a new, highly visible section of the grand staircase. This work is done on a level area, but we are working on the big staircase, so walking up and down stairs is involved. more |

Healthy Forests @ Shoreview ParkJune 21, 10am-12pm @ Shoreview Park We're expanding our healthy forest! We'll install 100s of new plants this fall (Shoreline Day). To prepare, we're removing ivy, holly, scot's broom, and blackberries. And spreading mulch! more |

Ivy Tree Ring - 3June 21, 8am-10am @ Richmond Beach Saltwater Park We will be removing a ring of ivy from the trees in the area east of the railroad tracks. This is an overgrown area and bushwhacking will be involved. Parts of the area are rough terrain and wet. more |

Join us! Weekly Sunday Work PartyJune 22, 9am-12pm @ Twin Ponds Park Yikes—bindweed is all over the stakes we planted this spring! We HAD grubbed out lot of the bindweed roots previously but now it is obvious that there was even more than we took out. The recent sunny weather has made this awful invasive grow as if on steroids! The good news is that nearly all of our stakes are also showing growth. We do need to keep the bindweed away from them so come out and help us battle the bindweed! more |

Make Hillwood Park Happy Hour!June 27, 4pm-6pm @ Hillwood Park Have you heard? - Hillwood Park is expanding, adding a new entrance from 8th avenue! Please join us for a fun Friday Happy Hour Work Party! We'll be removing noxious weeds and non-native plants from the new park section to prepare the land for the city to install walking trails and other features. There will be an optional meetup afterwards (location TBD) to celebrate our progress! more |

Echo Lake Loves Native PlantsJune 28, 2pm-5pm @ Echo Lake Park Come join us! We'll be tending to the many small native plants. These create habitat for our bugs, birds, bats and animals. They need us to create a little space around each so they don't get choked by the invasive weeds. And they are begging for more mulch so they can survive the dry summer months. We always have fun and meet new folks. more |
