Help Us Grow Our Forest at Richmond Beach Saltwater ParkDecember 20, 10am-12:30pm @ Richmond Beach Saltwater Park Enjoy the panoramic views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains while removing noxious weeds and helping to water trees and shrubs in native habitat restoration areas. We use an innovative irrigation system that saves water and keeps our plants healthy during the hot summer months. It’s simple and can be used in home gardens, too. Everyone who comes to help restore nearshore habitat at the park is appreciated! No experience is necessary; just an interest in working together and having fun while restoring native habitat. We provide all tools and work gloves. (You are welcome to bring your own if you wish). more |

Shoreline Park Work PartyDecember 20, 10am-12pm @ Shoreline Park Please join us in keeping the small forest of Shoreline Park beautiful. If we love this park, it will keep loving us right back. We're dreaming of a park free of invasive plants and filled with native plants. Work areas are manageable and it's easy to see the difference we've made so far. We'll be cutting and digging out Himalayan blackberry, rolling up carpets of English ivy, and working to preserve the trailing blackberry, salal, ferns, bleeding heart, and other native plants already thriving. We'll also be hauling mulch to the cleared area. more |

Join us! Weekly Sunday Work PartyDecember 21, 9am-12pm @ Twin Ponds Park In December, we will grub out roots of invasive plants where the ground is not frozen. We might walk around the entire west side of Twin Ponds Park to see if there are vestiges of Himalayan blackberry we can cut back. It is pretty cold so please dress for the weather! more |
