Help Us Grow Our Forest at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park

September 18, 9am-11:30am @ Richmond Beach Saltwater Park

Enjoy the panoramic views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains while removing noxious weeds and helping to water trees and shrubs in native habitat restoration areas. We use an innovative irrigation system that saves water and keeps our plants healthy during the hot summer months. It’s simple and can be used in home gardens, too. Everyone who comes to help restore nearshore habitat at the park is appreciated! No experience is necessary; just an interest in working together and having fun while restoring native habitat. We provide all tools and work gloves. (You are welcome to bring your own if you wish). more

Join us! Weekly Sunday Work Party

September 21, 9am-12pm @ Twin Ponds Park

The ground bees (i.e., yellow jackets) were quite active in August and as long as we have warm weather, we are expecting to see them through this month. So please be forewarned! The new blackberry and holly (started from seed) are easy to pull out and best removed at this stage. The bindweed is starting to wilt and we’ll try to get to some of the roots. Unfortunately, they are all over west Twin Ponds so any help you can give us would be much appreciated! more
