Shoreline Park - Shoreline Park Work Party02/07/2026

Activities

Come check out all the progress we've made at Shoreline Park! There is still plenty of work to do on this day, but there is hardly any Himalayan blackberry left! Most of the ivy and holly are gone, leaving the native salal and oregon grape and huckleberry to thrive. New plants are still small, but many are thriving.

We took out a large laurel by the playground and plan to finish mulching that area to suppress its regrowth. Then we'll move on to a stretch of land between the playground and 3rd avenue. There we'll take out spurge laurel, invasive honeysuckle, and others. We'll check on any possible bindweed regrowth while we enjoy working among the native Oregon grape and trailing blackberry. We can even tackle the last of the original Himalayan blackberry on this day (there will be plenty of regrowth over the years, of course).

All ages OK

0 out of 20 participants registered.

What to Bring

We'll have tools (wheelbarrows, loppers, shovels, etc.) and gloves available for use, but feel free to bring your own.

Where to Meet

Our first stop is always the tool box on the north end of the park, but we'll mostly be working near the playground if you don't see anyone there.

Where to Park

There is parking on the west side of the park, though there are sometimes soccer matches on Saturday mornings, so parking might be tight. There are plenty of residential streets off of 1st Ave to use as well. There is also street parking to the northeast side of the park if you want to park close to the work site.
