🌱 New Park, New Beginnings! — Blackberry Removal Bash at Ballinger Open Space 🌱

Join us for the very first Green Shoreline restoration event at Ballinger Open Space! This park needs your help to get off to a strong start on its journey toward becoming a thriving green space. With a mature maple overstory nearing the end of its life, we’re clearing invasive plants and preparing the site for a new generation of conifers and native species.

We'll spend about 75% of the time removing noxious weeds—especially those pesky blackberries—and the other 25% spreading mulch to prep the soil for future planting. It’s hands-on work, but it’s also a blast: think teamwork, muddy gloves, and the satisfaction of making a visible impact.

🔔 Important: There are no bathrooms on site, so please plan ahead. Be sure to bring water, snacks, and weather-appropriate layers!

Come ready to dig in, connect with your community, and help launch a restoration effort that will grow for years to come. Let’s give Ballinger Open Space the fresh start it deserves! 🌿💪
