Boeing Creek Park - 2025 Forest Steward Training03/22/2025

Train to become a Green Shoreline Partnership Forest Steward! Learn how to lead work parties, and strategize restoration activities. No experience necessary! Just bring your enthusiasm. We will teach you all about forest restoration and working with volunteers. We ask that you commit to do restoration in a City of Shoreline Park for at least one year. Sites available for restoration TBD.
General agenda to be covered:
-Work party management
-Invasive plant removal techniques
-Native plant installation techniques
-Ecological Restoration 101
-City logistics
-Online portal training

What to Bring
The training will take place both outdoors and indoors. Dress for the weather and wear tough clothes with layers and boots that you can work in. Also be prepared to attend class inside with a notebook or laptop.
Where to Meet
We will initially meet in our assigned classroom at Shoreline Community College - #1104. Then in the afternoon, we will transition to our field studies in Boeing Creek Park near the Shoreview off-leash dog park.
Where to Park
You can either park at the off-leash dog park or on campus. Further directions to follow near class time.
