Hamlin Park - Hamlin Upper Forest Restoration …12/13/2024
Activities
Join us at a new site at Hamlin Park! We are restoring the forest by removing invasive species, improving the health of the soil, and planting native trees, shrubs and ground cover. THIS EVENT WILL BE A PLANTING PARTY! We have sword ferns, hemlocks, huckleberries, and other native plants to add to the site.
No experience is necessary; just an interest in having fun while protecting native habitat. We provide all of the tools and work gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish.
All ages OK
5 out of 20 participants registered.
What to Bring
We have gloves and tools. Come dressed for the weather and ready to work outside. Please wear closed-toed shoes, a long sleeved shirt and long pants. This site has blackberries and hollies, which are both prickly, as well as lots of ivy, which can sometimes irritate skin. Remember to bring water and a snack.
