Shoreline Park - Shoreline Park Work Party06/22/2024

Activities

Please join us in keeping the small forest of Shoreline Park beautiful. If we love this park, it will keep loving us right back.

We're dreaming of a park free of invasive plants and filled with native plants. Work areas are manageable and it's easy to see the difference we've made so far. On this day, we'll be cutting and digging out Himalayan blackberry, rolling up carpets of English ivy, and working to preserve the trailing blackberry, salal, ferns, bleeding heart, and other native plants already thriving. We'll also be hauling mulch to cleared areas and re-weeding the planted zones

All ages OK

2 out of 20 participants registered.

What to Bring

We'll have tools (loppers and shovels) and gloves available for use, but feel free to bring your own. Blackberry canes have significant thorns, so if you plan to do a lot of this work, you may want to invest in thick gloves. Also, don't forget a water bottle and a snack.

Where to Meet

We'll be at the north end of the park, just north of the paved trail. You'll see a large mulch pile and some compost piles nearby.

Where to Park

There is parking on the west side of the park.
